Ottawa Church Double Doors with Original Faux Oak Graining

Salvaged from an Ottawa church, this matched pair of oversized pine doors retains layers of its architectural history, including remnants of the original faux oak graining beneath later church-era brown paint. The result is a surface with remarkable depth and character — equally compelling installed as found or stripped and refinished for a more contemporary project.
Each door features six deeply recessed panels with substantial 1.75" thick pine construction and retains its original spring-loaded hinges and pull hardware. The proportions are particularly versatile at just under 50 inches wide overall, making the pair suitable for residential or commercial interiors.
The softened paint wear, visible grain beneath the finish, and aged hardware give the doors the kind of layered authenticity that is difficult to replicate. Beautiful candidates for a pantry, library, office, wine room, retail fitting room, or restaurant project.
A strong architectural set with excellent scale and presence.
Good vintage condition with wear consistent with age and architectural use. Later brown church paint overlays portions of the original faux oak finish. Surface scratches, scuffs, small paint losses, and age-related wear throughout. Structurally sound and ready for installation, restoration, or refinishing depending on project needs.

The lamp is the perfect accoutrement to my Great, Grandfather’s roll top desk. I’m the 4 th generation in my family to labour away on its planks.
