A rare piece of Canadian railway history, this antique inclinometer—or "cant"—was used by Canadian National Railway engineers to determine the precise rise required on curved stretches of track.

Crafted from wood, steel, and iron, this tool still retains its original black paint and is boldly marked “C.N.R.” (Canadian National Railway). It features hand-painted calibration markings and an inset bubble level (now evaporated, as is common with instruments of this age). Despite this, it remains a striking and authentic artifact of 20th-century railway engineering.

At an impressive 84" L x 7.5" W x 1.5" Thick, this inclinometer commands attention as both an industrial artifact and a unique design piece. Perfect for railway collectors, museums, or as a statement wall display in a loft, studio, or office.
