A striking pair of vintage forged iron staircase railing fragments, originally part of a curved stair installation.

Hand-forged scrollwork, collar-wrapped joints, and subtle hammer marks reveal craftsmanship that predates modern machine fabrication. The elegant curvature suggests these once followed a sweeping stair — now preserved as sculptural architectural artifacts.

The iron carries a naturally aged patina with areas of surface oxidation and traces of earlier finish. We have chosen not to over-restore; the quiet red oxide and worn edges are part of the story.

These fragments now read as drawing in metal — airy yet substantial, decorative yet grounded.

Ideal as wall-mounted architectural art in residential interiors, restaurants, wineries, boutique hotels, or garden installations.

Condition

Vintage condition with age-appropriate surface oxidation and wear consistent with prior architectural use.

We recommend sealing with a matte clear coat if installing in a moisture-prone environment.

Styling Notes

• Mount slightly off the wall (1" stand-offs recommended) to create shadow play.

• Install vertically as sculpture or horizontally as a statement frieze.

• Works beautifully against limewash, plaster, brick, or stone.

• Exterior garden use possible with proper sealing.
