Set of Six Folding Garden Chairs with Scroll Arms | Weathered Wood & Iron Frames
Set of Six Folding Garden Chairs with Scroll Arms | Weathered Wood & Iron Frames
A set of six folding garden chairs with a distinctly European sensibility—light in form, sculptural in detail, and shaped by years outdoors.
Each chair features a painted iron frame with hand-formed scroll arms and a slatted wood seat and back. Designed to fold for storage, they carry the proportions and practicality of traditional café seating, but with a softer, more expressive line.
The wood has naturally weathered over time, with surface wear and areas of lichen that speak to long use in the elements. The frames retain a muted green finish, now softened with age. Five chairs are a matched set; the sixth differs slightly but integrates well visually.
These are not restored. They are offered as found—stable, usable, and full of character. The kind of set that settles easily into a garden, terrace, or hospitality setting without feeling newly placed.
A complete grouping like this is increasingly difficult to source.
Details
- Quantity: Set of 6 chairs
- Dimensions (5 chairs): 22" W x 21" D x 35.5" H
- Seat Height: 18.75"
- Materials: Painted iron frames with wood slats
- Finish: Weathered green paint with natural patina

Condition
Wear consistent with age and outdoor use. Wood slats show significant weathering, surface erosion, and areas of lichen. Iron frames remain structurally sound with age-appropriate patina and finish loss. One chair is a near match with minor variation in form. All chairs are stable and usable as found.
Considerations
- Lichen may be removed if a cleaner finish is preferred, though many will appreciate the existing patina
- Wood slats could be refinished or replaced if desired, though we have chosen to preserve their current state
- Suitable for covered outdoor use or interior garden rooms
Why We Chose Them
A set like this doesn’t need refinement. The wear, the softened paint, the uneven surfaces—these are the details that make them believable in a space. Six chairs, kept together, ready to be placed.
