Pair of Gothic Revival Two-Arm Wall Sconces | Cast Iron & Brass | c. 1920-1935
Pair of Gothic Revival Two-Arm Wall Sconces | Cast Iron & Brass | c. 1920-1935
A handsome pair of Gothic Revival wall sconces that beautifully capture the craftsmanship and architectural character of the early twentieth century.
Each sconce features an ornately cast iron backplate with pierced tracery and a quatrefoil-inspired medallion, complemented by gracefully curved solid brass arms and decorative brass candle cups. The original paper candle sleeves, moulded to resemble dripping wax, remain intact and have developed a warm patina that speaks to their age and authenticity.
While unsigned, the design is reminiscent of the quality period lighting produced for churches, Tudor Revival homes, institutional buildings, and grand public interiors during the 1920s and 1930s.
These sconces are offered exactly as found. The original wiring is present, and the fixtures have not been tested. We recommend professional rewiring prior to installation. Clear bulbs are included for display purposes but have not been tested and are not included.
Whether flanking a fireplace, mirror, doorway, or hallway, they bring warmth, texture, and architectural character to both traditional and contemporary interiors.
