Large Antique Half Round Barn Attic Vent

One of two large antique attic vents salvaged from an Eastern Ontario barn that recently underwent a major renovation. Hand crafted from pine with layered historic paint and original wire mesh, this oversized architectural element carries the kind of scale and presence that is increasingly difficult to find intact.
Originally designed to ventilate the upper loft space of a barn, the vent now reads more like architectural sculpture — equally compelling indoors or out. The sweeping half-round form, deep louvers, weathered surfaces, and soft green paint remnants create a piece with remarkable visual weight and texture.
Unlike many surviving examples that have been stripped, rebuilt, or reduced to decorative fragments, this vent retains its original hand-built construction and honest agricultural wear. The result is a piece that feels authentic rather than manufactured for the modern “farmhouse” market.
An exceptional option for:
The scale alone makes this a difficult piece to replicate convincingly today.
Wear consistent with age, weather exposure, and agricultural use. Areas of paint loss, surface wear, aging to the wire mesh, and minor imperfections throughout add to the overall character and authenticity of the piece.
106" L x 41" H x 10" W
Good antique condition with weathered surface wear consistent with age and outdoor use. Structurally solid with strong overall integrity.
Large oversized architectural piece. Please contact us for shipping or delivery options based on destination.

Very nice meeting you and Andrew. thank you so much for all your help. I've got a lot of work to do before that cabinet can be installed in its new home, but I'll send a pic when it's done. Thanks again and wishing you all the best.

Safe & Sound! Thank you David, an excellent job on packaging.
The lamp is the perfect accoutrement to my Great, Grandfather’s roll top desk. I’m the 4 th generation in my family to labour away on its planks.
