Likely salvaged from an early culvert, mill race, bridge, or other industrial water-control application, this substantial hand-woven steel screen is a striking example of practical engineering elevated by time. Constructed from heavy round steel bars that have been mechanically interwoven rather than welded, it reflects an era when industrial components were built for longevity rather than replacement.

The slight irregularities in the weave and the rich, naturally developed rust patina speak to its age and authenticity. Whether originally intended to intercept debris at a water intake or protect critical infrastructure, today it offers an entirely new life as a sculptural architectural element.

Equally at home indoors or in the garden, this piece works beautifully as wall art, a climbing trellis, privacy screen, restaurant feature, or landscape focal point. Its honest patina and handcrafted construction make it a compelling addition to both contemporary and historic spaces.

  • 42" W × 60" H × 1" Thick
