Early 20th Century Arched Interior Double Doors with Original Hardware

Graceful proportions and understated craftsmanship define this handsome pair of early 20th century arched interior doors. With their broad glazed openings, gently curved tops and clean panel design, these doors would have originally separated public and private spaces in a commercial, institutional or ecclesiastical building, while allowing natural light to pass between rooms.

Measuring a combined 55.5 inches wide, the pair creates an impressive architectural opening that is equally at home in a thoughtfully restored heritage property or a contemporary interior seeking authentic character. Their simple design makes them remarkably versatile, lending themselves to applications such as a library, home office, wine room, pantry, boutique retail space or restaurant.

The doors retain their original mortise lock and escutcheon plates, offering an authentic period detail that is increasingly difficult to find. The hinges, door know and key are not included. The existing privacy glass is a later replacement and is not original to the doors.

The wood exhibits a warm, naturally aged patina with the honest wear expected from decades of service. Whether installed as functional doors or incorporated into a custom architectural project, they offer the kind of scale and craftsmanship that is becoming increasingly difficult to source.

Condition

Hinges are not included. As with all salvaged architectural elements, minor imperfections contribute to their character.
