A substantial hand made carpenter’s chest with beautifully worn blue-grey paint, original cast iron hardware and a remarkably intact fitted interior. Built with solid wood construction and designed as a working tradesman’s chest, this example retains nine removable interior compartments including two with hinged lids — a rare survival that speaks to the chest’s original use and careful preservation over time.

The chest features heavy forged side handles and original Baldwin cast iron hinges, helping date the piece to the late 19th or early 20th century. The layered paint, surface wear and aged wood interior reflect decades of practical use while giving the piece exceptional visual character.
