A striking 19th-century English fireplace surround richly detailed in repousse brass. The upper panel features the face of Vulcan, Roman god of the forge, flanked by scrolling foliage and acanthus ornament. Below, two mythical dragons guard an urn at the centre of an intricate floral and foliate motif, finely hand-pierced and worked in high relief. The openwork pattern continues along the lower register, framed by a brass border with subtle age-related patina.
An exceptional example of Victorian craftsmanship that merges mythological symbolism with decorative artistry — ideal for restoration or as a dramatic statement piece in a hearth, wall installation, or display.

Very nice meeting you and Andrew. thank you so much for all your help. I've got a lot of work to do before that cabinet can be installed in its new home, but I'll send a pic when it's done. Thanks again and wishing you all the best.
Just so you know - every time I look at my new table I love it even more!! Thank you!

Safe & Sound! Thank you David, an excellent job on packaging.
The lamp is the perfect accoutrement to my Great, Grandfather’s roll top desk. I’m the 4 th generation in my family to labour away on its planks.
